Yesterday saw the second edition of Boat International's Ocean Talks, where a number of speakers tackled the difficult topics that surround the health and issues facing our oceans.
The keynote this year was presented by Steve Gresham together with Alexander Flemming, co-CEO of Greenwich Maritime Services.
The duo presented some of the challenges of creating vessels for scientific research while also outlining the importance of programs that aid scientific research.
"There are many considerations when designing vessels for scientific activities but it doesn't mean you can't have fun with it or their design. That said, style should not be at the expense of functionality," said Gresham during the presentation.
"We need to inspire the next generation, as it'll take time to find solutions to the problems we face with our oceans," added Flemming.
